Senior Staff Accountant - Accounting

We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Accountant (Accounting) to join our team. The successful candidate will have completed the CPA program with most of their hours of experience completed or close to being completed. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for mentoring staff, while working on complex compilation files and they must have the soft and technical skills to do so. You must have the ability to work well with all members of the team, while building relationships with clients. We are looking for a professional, driven and hardworking individual with the ability and foresight to assist others with their file work. Your Responsibilities will include:
Conducting compilation engagements
Preparing a variety of personal & corporate tax returns
Assisting new and junior staff on their file work
Liaising with Managers and Partners on files
Identifying accounting issues and making recommendations
Building and maintaining relationships with clients
Keeping the Managers and Partners informed of your file progression
Attending and sometimes running meetings, lunch & learns and other meetings as required
Other tasks as they arise
Your Attributes:
Completion (or close to completion) of the CPA Alberta Professional Education Program
2 to 3 years of experience working in a Professional Services firm
Exceptional communication, client service and relationship building skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
Ability to train and mentor other staff members
Proficient in Microsoft Office, TaxPrep, Caseware and DocIt
